Besides leading tours for Mabu Buru Tours I’m also a Crocodile Wrangler and Tour Guide at the Malcolm Douglas Crocodile Park.
Prior to the development of Mabu Buru Tours, I was a Yawuru Country Manager Coordinator. The Yawuru Country Managers are the Indigenous ranger group that are employed by Nyamba Buru Yawuru to look after Yawuru country on behalf of the Yawuru Nation, conducting a variety of on-country work which includes flora and fauna surveying and monitoring and research in both land and sea.
I encourage all people to experience our spiritual & physical connection to country and spread understanding of Aboriginal culture.
I am proud to share my knowledge of Broome and it’s surrounding landscape with visitors. To show you the wildlife and tell stories of the ancient, continuing connection that my people share with this land.

Mabu Buru Tours is excited to welcome you on our ultimate journey to connect with Aboriginal people in Broome to better understand our traditional lifestyle, history, culture and connection to Country.
This is a three-night four-day experience based out of Broome. This expedition will take you through a Cultural journey with iconic experiences including, the Cable Beach Muwarrt, the Southern Cross-Cultural Walking Tour in Bardi Country, a Yawuru Cultural Helitour Experience across Roebuck Bay Coastline and a Wakaj Experience (an authentic Karajarri family gathering experience).
The expedition is hosted by Mabu Buru tours and is a joint collaboration between some of Broome’s most iconic Aboriginal tourism operators:
Johani Mamid & Mervyn Mulardy (Mabu Buru Tours), Bolo Angus (Southern Cross Cultural Walk Tours) and Bart Pigram (Narlijia Experiences).
This customized expedition will also include a special meeting with a local aboriginal leader in native title and environmental conservation and land management related matters.
